febi 194700 is a premium hybrid transmission fluid specifically designed for use in the Punch Powertrain DT2 hybrid dual-clutch transmission (eDCT).
This oil provides excellent friction performance, enabling smooth, precise and quick gear shifting which is essential for the smooth operation of the wet dual-clutch system. It delivers outstanding low temperature performance, improving vehicle efficiency even in extreme conditions ensuring reliable and economical operation.
This transmission is available in both a 48-volt mild-hybrid variant as well as in a more powerful high-voltage 90 kw hybrid. Therefore, the oil must be highly compatible with non-ferrous metals and electronic components, both common in hybrid vehicle systems.
Cause of failure
The recommended oil service replacement interval for this transmission is 64,000 miles/103,000 km, or 60,000 miles/93,000 km if the vehicle is operated under arduous conditions, e.g. towing.
Failure to adhere to the vehicle manufacturer’s maintenance schedule risks the premature failure of transmission components.
Over time, contaminants such as wear debris and impurity elements can accumulate in the oil. This build-up of contamination, an issue that affects all other wet dual-clutch transmissions, results in gear changes being delayed by a fraction of a second, impacting the drivability of the vehicle.
To ensure the long life and smooth operation of a transmission, febi recommends that regular transmission oil servicing is carried out according to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended intervals, subject to the operating conditions in which the vehicle is used.
