In vehicles with a manual transmission, the proper functioning of the clutch actuation system is a necessary prerequisite for driving ability. Absolute reliability and a long service life of the installed components must therefore be guaranteed.
When the clutch pedal is actuated, pressure is generated in the clutch hydraulics. This also moves the piston in the clutch slave cylinder and disengages the clutch via a mechanical connection. When the driver releases the clutch pedal, there is no more hydraulic pressure in the system and the clutch closes again.
