Function
A combined fuel pump, filter and fuel level sensor assembly are situated in the fuel tank.
The fuel is pumped via an electric pump through the fuel filter to the engine fuel injection system.
Cause of failure
The engine not starting, stalling or poor performance, can be one of the indicators that the fuel pump is faulty.
This is due to low or no fuel pressure.
The engine warning light Low'', or P0088, ‘'Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High'', which are stored in the engine control unit.
